album.pl Configuration UpdaterOne of the big problems with album.pl updates has always been the manual integration of album.cfg changes. This problem has now been addressed!
Included in the download is a new script named album_upgradecfg.pl.
album_upgradecfg.pl reads through your existing album.cfg and will merge any changes into a new file. This is useful for upgrading from a previous release, where new config items have been added, changed, etc.
It does not modify your config, but creates a new named album.cfg.new by default.
The script has a simple web-based interface, making it easy to use.
You must enter your album admin code in order to run the process, to prevent anonymous access to your settings.
I'd love to hear your feedback and comments on the new process. It's an improvement, but we may still be able to make it easier, so speak up!
