Topic: My Album.pl with Yabb

Hi ya. I can't link to my album as I have it only viewable for members, but I have taken a screenshot for you to look at: http://www.thecaretaker.v21hosting.co.uk/myalbum.JPG

It's only been running 3 days but has already proved a big hit with my forum members.

I did try a beta gallery for Yabb about 3-4 months ago and it made a right mess of the server. It created files that I couldn't delete and had to get my host to clean up the mess.

Album.pl seems to be working flawlessly. I love the layout and the way it integrates with Yabb. I was very hesitant at first after the mess the other album made, but I'm really please I went for it this time.

A big thank you to all those people who have worked so hard on this project. I can't thank you enough!

PS: I don't have ImageMagik installed, I'm making the thumbnails by hand lol

Looks great! 

I use Irfanview for my off-line thumbnails, cropping, resizing, etc. Great freeware.

Looks great, love the buttons.

I also create all my thumbs offline, mostly because thumbs from IM tend to be larger than those from Thotor, for example.

Where there's a will, there's a way. I cheated a bit with the random thumbnail on the homepage. I took the surround of one made with imagemagik and made a base to the correct size as a transparant gif and overlayed the random thumbnail.

So it looks like this http://www.thecaretakers.net 

By making the thumbnails myself, I can make sure they are all the same size and fit this shadow perfectly each time

Cool idea! Generating shadows with IM can be a pretty costly trick in tems of CPU if you do it often...
