Colorado Winter Ski & Snowboard Photo Gallery
« on: February 24, 2005, 20:18:39 »
I have created a photo gallery for a student group at the University of Colorado that is dedicated to getting out into the Colorado winter backcountry. There are literally thousands of user-submitted photos of the mountains and their excursions.

By the way, the photo gallery is a part of the larger site found at:
http://www.colorado.edu/studentgroups/freeheelers

Can you recommend any futher changes to my style sheet(s) in order to have more matching/consistency? Again, I posted in the support forum for album.pl the questions about placing the title image at the top of the photo gallery. That would be a big help.

I'd say once you get the hang of templates, and are able to add the same HTML header, it'll look pretty well integrated.

I guess I'm really unfamiliar with templates, but how can the html header make all of the difference? I thought that the header was all unseen in the final page... what am I missing?

I don't mean the HTML <head> section, I mean a common header for all album pages. Currently, the header includes the page title, menu, etc.

There it is! I've peeled my way through all of my templates (including the album set), stylesheets and html in a mad-man crash course on HTML language, and I think I've finally accomplished a mostly-integrated website including a bulletin board and photo gallery with hundreds of photos.

Please check it out:

What do you think? I still can't seem to get the small white borders around the album script to go away like I've done with the bulletin board, but I'll keep hammering. It took long enough to get the tables to be at 100% width!

Now that I've hacked my fingers bloody on your templates, I've got to say that those are some very nice templates, once I got to know a little more HTML. It is very clear how you've organized the structure.

That looks great! It's a perfect integration with your site... Nice work!

And good job with the templates, I know they can be *extrememly* challenging to figure out. Usually if you stick with it, it all comes together, but it's not easy. ;)

Cheers
