As you know, I've been gone a while and I came back by reinstalling my old 6.4v album.pl.
I figured, what the heck, I better upgrade to 6.5v, and thus I did...and at that point all hell broke loose. So, I'm not sure if they're little bugs with 6.5, or what, but here are the issues I had (PS, I switched back to 6.4 and am very happy with it):
1. Login page tables out of whack...footer showed at the top of the page, login box was off to the far right
2. Kept getting authentication error, even though I'm on flatfile (#1) configuration. I would go to sign in and weird names like SMF_Cookie10 (My old SMF cookie) would show as user name. I did the ?function=delcookie and still was getting weird stuff from programs I haven't had in years.
3. When I would login in with the correct authenticated (by auth_db.txt) name as password, it would take me back to login screen...endless loop. I tried ?function-admin, it said "You need to login to use this function (or something like that)."
4. No one could rate any pictures...kept saying you have to login and when you try to login it gets you back to the login screen.
5. The JHead info appeared under the picture in, like, 24pt font, taking up the whole picture page...no more tooltip popup.
6. The 24pt JHead info and old ratings and comments were all hyperlinked to the next image (like a [/url] missing somewhere) .
7. I tried to use the PD mod and it would give me a parse error.
8. The normal slideshowwouldn't work...on clicking the thumbnail it would freeze on the first picture...all hyperlinks went dead, I had to close the browser and restart. Had to disable the slideshow function. Fullscreen slideshow froze on the third picture, had to remove ####FULLSCREEN#### from the template.
9. Would not find GD1 or GD2 to make thumbnails...my host has GD 1, GD2 and ImageMagick, and the album_test.pl shows it as being istalled, but no ImageMagick functions work.
10. Small/Medium/Large picture view functions all rendered as fullscreen size.
Anyway, I don't have any clue what the heck is going on...It doesn't seem like anybody else has these same issues...and I did the correct upgrade...replace all files with new files and run the config upgrade.
Anyway, I've gone back to 6.4 and I'm very happy with it, so I'm sticking with it.
Later...
