Hi Mike,
Absolutely not!  The reason that I have to switch back because I don't want any users will be disappointed with the service that I've just introduced to them.
I will switch back now, until I receive you new news.
Nick

Hi Mike!
Firstly, I've never received a notification from your reply, so I didn't know that you have been waiting for me to switch back to the test mode.
Please let me know (PM may be better) when you are ready to use my site, so I can do it for you.
Take care.
Nick

No... my fault, every time Nick was ready I wasn't so it wasn't fixed. However I should be able to give it another try if you're willing to set me up with a test account and your album debug code.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,
I to can't seem to get album.pl working with yabb2.1
The default cookie names in yabb2.1 are not the same default in yabb1
When I make the cookie names match in yabb and album.p and try logging into album using a valid Uname and Pword in yabb
I get a popup "Authentication Falure. Pleas try again" and the password entery field in album has some more ******* added to it with each try.
When I use the defaut cookie names in yabb "Y2User-36764" "Y2Pass-36764 and leave the defaults in album.pl ""YaBBusername" There is no popup it just will never login.

Any help would be great I am trying to get a new site up and am using yabb since it works together with album.pl

Thanks
John

Nick,

I may be having the same issues, you say your using a script to convert the user file in yabb2.1 If you think It could help me please let me know if you can share a copy of it with me. It sounds like a temp work around for a while.

Thanks
John

I *should* be able to code album.pl to work with native Yabb2.1 authentication info if I can get test access to a system for a bit. That would save having to convert to the old YaBB format...

Thanks to John and all others who have assisted... I believe we now have YaBB 2 compatibility. Simply re-download and replace your album.pl. Note that you have to use authentication_type=3 and set your membersdir correctly, but album.pl is now designed to read YaBB 2 cookies (even random cookies) and use that info to authenticate users.

If anyone has any problems, please let me know.

Cheers
Mike

Hey Mike I'm having trouble as the rest of the users.  I just download album.pl today so I know I have the most upto date files

I don't know if I changed something I shouldn't have or didn't change the right thing

This is my path to my members dir
/home/mdrcrac/public_html/cgi-bin/forum/Members/
and these are the setting I have in album.pl

db_name: yabbse
db_hostname: localhost
db_user: Y2User-86829
db_password: [password]
db_membertable: yabbse_members
db_username: memberName
db_passwdfield: passwd

Did I miss something

Note to all: With mdrcracing's help, I updated the album.pl script to work a bit better with YaBB 2.

Thanks!
