Admin auth_db option?
« on: December 04, 2002, 16:40:07 »
I was just wondering if it would be possible to add a section in the Admin file to modify the auth_db file.  I am trying to set the album up for a group who's not very good with computers or ftp clients.  I think this feature would be nice and make it easier as well.

Yeah, I'm starting to hear that more and more. I'm planning on adding an admin option for flatfile authentication soon. Not sure how detailed it will be, but we'll see...

P.S. I guess this post answers my question about your authentication_type... :)

If you are talking about the auth_db.txt,

I was wondering if it is possible to give a user a specific rights to only few albums and not all, maybe something like a hide album string per user

You *could* use a local album.cfg for a specific album and have the local config point to a new auith_db.txt. That new auth_db would just list the users you want to have access to that album.

Not perfect or pretty, but it should work...
