2 Quick Questions.
« on: November 25, 2002, 10:53:06 »
Howdy from a new album.pl user.   8)

I installed this app (6.0) yesterday and it looks great so far.

?#1:  I have YaBB already installed on my site.  When I have the Authentication set to 3, I cannot logon.  The 6.0 logon screen show my username as "admin" and gives a password of about 13 digits which I do not recognize as my own.  I've tried different combinations of usernames and pw's from 6.0 as well as YaBB and nothing lets me in.  For the moment, I have auth. set to 0 so I can fiddle.   Everything looks great.

?#2:  I'm interested in setting up ImageMagick in order to autocreate thumbs.  I'm not overly proficient with setting something like IM up and it looks a bit complicated from their instructions.  Also, when reading through some of their majordomo postings, there seems to be some concern about running IM on unix based systems.  Also, how complicated is the installationa and integration w/6.0?

I'm pleased so far and I hope to get this entirely set up this week.

Cheers:
Keith

Hi Keith,

Here goes:

1. Not sure why that is. It sounds like you're being logged in to your album OK though, right (automatically, I mean)? If you have the YaBB security mod installed, the "13 digits" are probably your hashed password.

2. ImageMagick is pretty involved to install on UNIX systems, and generally requires root access to do it properly. Your best bet is to ask your ISP to install it, and usually they will.

Hope that helps!

Cheers

P.S. You may want to check out this thread on how to get your style sheet working... ;)

WOW, that was quick...I barely had enough time to microwave some left over Macaroni and Cheese before you posted a reply.

HA!  ;D

Mike, I've always just used Server Side Includes to set the look of all the webpages in a site.

I'm reading on CSS now but I'm just wondering if I can continue ussing SSI.

thx.

Hi Keith,

You *can* avoid using CSS, but to be honest, an album looks just plain wrong without it. ;) See the difference between the sample album and your album?
