New 6.0 Style

Hi all,

I've started changing over the "style" of album.pl to use more "modern" techniques. The style itself is essentially the same, but it is very different under the covers.

You're going to hate me, but this means totally new templates and style sheets.  :-[

If you have a moment, please take a look at the sample album and let me know how it looks. I know there are still some glitches there, which I want to catch before 6.0 goes out for real.

The new style/templates aren't availavble for download yet, but I can put them up for anyone who wants them. I just want to make them a little more "clean" before I pass them out...

What exactly changed, other than the colors and layout? Did the actual pl file change, or just the templates?

Actually the colours and the layout *didn't* change (much). But the actual templates and style sheets changed a whole lot. (You won't recognize 'em... Check out the HTML source for the sample album...)

To be honest, I'd wait a bit if I were you. I've been fine tuning the styles and templates a bit, just to get things right. Still have some work to do, but it's coming...

And Allen, nice work!

Mike, I'll heed your words of wisdom and hold off a bit.

Allen, lookin' good. I'm bummed that I didn't get to meet the man behind the name at SEMA. It was a HUGE show this year. Maybe next year.  :'(

I couldn't remember the name of your company and couldn't find the pm in whch you told me the name. I circled the gm area several times thinking I might just see you. We'll be there next year for sure :)

Hey mike, I haven't updated in a while.  I am still on 5.6.

 Let me know if it is safe to update yet!

guess I'm going to have to totally redo my styles when I do upgrade, eh?

Welcome back!

Safe is a relative term. I'd say there are still a few bugs in 6.0, but then again, with the number that I've fixed since 5.6, it's *probably* more stable.

And yeah, it's a nuke and pave upgrade. Sorry about that! (You'll understand if you look at the files - templates, style sheet etc are all totally changed.)
