Showcase
« on: February 26, 2003, 13:25:47 »
Ok, there are enough really cool albums out there that I thought I'd start a "Showcase" forum, where you guys can post URLs to your albums if you want.

Show off all that hard work! Get people oogling over your site!

Let me start the ball rolling:

This isn't a great example, it only slight template and style sheet modifications. I know there are some great customizations out there, I've seen them!

Cheers

Mike, you are structuring your album in a method similar to what I want to do.  I notice that you are using and "album=XXXX" function.  Can you tell me how this is supported?  Is the XXX just a directory name, or something more?

Hi Brett,

The album=xxx is a notation to view the photos located in the "xxx" directory. Tinker with the sample album (http://perl.bobbitt.ca/cgi-bin/album.pl) if you'd like.

Cheers

How come nobody else has added their sites to the showcase! I'd love to see some!

All right, here's mine...

http://www.zorz.net/cgi-bin/AlbumPL/album.pl

I started it to show my newborn daughter's pictures but may add more albums... Would be nice, of course, to see many guests and users, but for now there aren't.

Well, something to work on. All the best to everyone!

OK... Here's my families photo album but it's not a current version of album.pl [v6.0beta1] I prefer the text over buttons look so I haven't taken the time to update to latest version of album.pl yet. :-[  For now, it's stable and serves our clan well.

Hey, nice work!

Not sure if you know, but I added a "textmenu" config item to 6.1 which allows you to switch back to text menus... :)

But it's still a lot of work to upgrade, since there are completely new style sheet and template formats...
