Copy function
« on: August 13, 2003, 20:40:35 »
The album that I created has multiple sub-albums, and pics can fit into more than one album. It would be great if there were a 'copy' function so that a copy of the photo, thumbnail, description, and any other relevant information, could be made from one albut to another -- faster than uploading it again.
Thanks,

Mike

Better yet would be a reference to the original instance of the picture (why have the same picture saved twice?).

Sort of like having a "link" to the picutre, pulling it from its original location.   ;D

A copy feature would be good too, since I have many albums with the same pic. I often create a "Best of the Best" album of vacation pics, so my site's users don't have to go through 500 pictures. Having more than one copy of a file on my server kills me.  ;D

LOL, you're still plugging the link idea, and I still haven't done it. :)

I do think it's a great idea by the way, and the more you remind me, the more likely I'll be able to do it.

In fact, having a "create link" button is probably the easiest way to implemnt it, at least initially.

I really need to sit down and design this properly some time, that's what's holding me back. Every time I think of this feature, it's size scares me away. Proper design would fix that...
