Representative Thumbnails
« on: November 19, 2003, 10:55:24 »
Ok, one more new feature...

By default, the first thumbnail in an album is now used to represent that album. Check out the sample album to see an example of this.

This means that the generic icon will be seen a lot less often, making the album more visual.

Enjoy

nice album script, just couple question, is this really Free, as i can use anywhere i want? even commercial site?

and secondly i would like to keep this representative thumnails as an option, as you can see people are uploading different size of picture, so it is not gonna look neat.

It's completely free, commercial sites included. If you feel your web site has gotten a financial boost from album.pl, you can always donate to the project. :)

As for representative thumbnails, it's set in album.cfg, so it's all or nothing. I don't believe that using a local album.cfg would have the effect you're looking for here...

However, if you use ImageMagick, you can create thumbnails that look pretty good - even for very tall or very wide images, they'll be resized properly.

Cheers
