Great Mike this simple site is just what we wanted. all is working fine for me i have tested all under different user id excetra, all very easy and fast

however one or two users are reporting diiffficulty (this is why the simple site) just to be sure they have not found a bug  could you read our  forum message where one mentions WARNING: /home/chfc/public_html/album/00001282 could not be deleted!

Hi Ben,

I've discovered over time that some web servers (mostly IIS) will "hold" a directory once it's created, and album.pl can't delete it. Often it takes a restart of the web server to unlock the album so it can be deleted, unfortunately. Generally all the files are deleted and all that's left behind is an empty album.

You might be able to manually delete these albums via FTP...

I have logged in as user 00001282 and and deleted no problem. Server behaved itself, album.pl Rocks!

On the first album.pl page we wish to put some text
"Each picture below is a photo album.  Click on a picture to open the album."
this text should appear above the list of albums, but disappear when we enter an individual album.

if you could insert this for us then point to where to edit it please

Done. I just used the "Edit Titles & Descriptions" option on the admin menu to add a description for the "root" album.

That was quick I have centered this text by adding <center> to descriptions text

you mention the admin menu? this sounds like something I should know about, I am familar with album.cfg but please point me towards this admin menu

In your config, just add your username to the "default_admins" item and you'll see the admin menu every time you log in.

Alternatively, you can add "?function=[admin code]" to your album URL, where [admin code] is replaced with the one defined in your config (near the bottom - e-mail me if you can't find it...)
